Waveland

The spaces we live in, and the landscape we surround ourselves with have an impact on our identity. When stripped bare, what we are left with is a distilled form of human infrastructure. You see how we organize land, resources and space.

Waveland, Mississippi was actual ground zero for Hurricane Katrina and the worst hit beach on the Mississippi gulf coast from the BP oil spill. Historically natural and human forces have tried to claim it.

Whether it is personal preference/projection or simply a matter of law, the landscape is neat, well-presented and cared for. There is tension in its waiting and hopefully leads the viewer to construct a past and/or a future.
